{Philosophy Shampoo, Shower gel and bubble Bath – Peppermint Stick}

Nothing screams Christmas like a good ol’ candy cane, right? A fair amount of you lovely gals that commented over the past few days mentioned that peppermint based baked goods are your vice over the holidays. It’s a flavour that’s a lot more loved than I thought!

You can see where I’m going with this. I’m not the the world’s biggest fan of peppermint products, unless we’re talking about the peppermint white chocolate mocha from Starbucks then we’re talkin’…

Saying that I’m not a fan of peppermint isn’t a lie but I do love the way Philosophy describe ways (on the front of the bottle) that you can use this holiday candy in different ways.

Like so:

1. As a Hostess Gift

2. To stir your hot cocoa

3. Crushed over a bowl of ice crema

4. Bundled in a jar on your baking table/counter (cute home deco idea!)

5. Strung in a row for more home deco

6. Dipped in melted chocolate (I love fondue)

7. As a cocktail garnish

8. As a light night snack

That’s plenty more ways that I thought existed! Which way would you prefer yours?

{Philosophy Spiced Gingerbread Cookie Shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath}

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a fan of gingerbread in any form of baked goods. My must-have Christmas treat? Shortbread cookies dipped in pretty much anything.

{I love the way this looks good enough to eat…}

That being said, I ADORE gingerbread scented beauty products. So much so that this particular shower gel has become my favourite of the five.

It makes me want to eat it. I love that for the seemingly edible products, Philosophy include the recipe of said product on the bottle. Totally satisfying the foodies in us right?

So here’s the Philosophy recipe if you do love gingerbread men…

2 cups flour

1, 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2  cup brown sugar

1/3 cup molasses

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg

1/2 cup unsalted butter

Directions: mix sugar, butter and molasses, add egg and beat for one minute. Sift in dry ingredients, then mix for two minutes. Scoop on to pan, lightly flatten cookies and dust with sugar. Bake for 13 minutes at 350f. Allow to cool before decorating!

In lieu of not wanting to bake this treat my oh so thoughtful boyfriend came home with this deliciously scented Bright – Gingerbread Man Air Freshener that now sits on our tree. Isn’t he the cutest! He’s also literally filling my living room with the sweet scent of gingerbread cookies which is doubly as awesome seeing as I just showered with the scent…

Last Christmas I gave Philosophy my heart and ever since, I’ve been hooked. The Holiday season of 2012 my family were visiting me in Canada for the first time and of course I wanted their ‘beauty’ experience to be nothing but the best.

Naturally, I went straight down to Sephora to stock up on (not one) three Philosophy Bath and Body washes to give them a choice of the best in scented cleansing.

These shower gels excite the senses and if you ask me, there’s no better shower than a deliciously edible or softly scented wake up call.

This week I’ll be indulging in a different shower gel a day and giving my readers the chance to win the entire set of the featured shower gels at the end of the week!

Exciting? Oui. If you’re dying to get your hands on a limited scent for a loved one then head to Sephora or Hudson’s Bay to stock up. You’ll see throughout the week but this year the products are packaged up in the most adorable boxes – way easier for wrapping purposes 😉

We all remember our first grown-up spa experience, while I don’t remember my British one I for sure remember my Canadian one.

One of the first spas I fell madly in love with when I arrived to the Great White North was Rhythm Spa in the Downtown area. It wasn’t just the value that had me at hello.

The serene and therapeutic setting and the awesome owner, Maria all played a part in my beauty grooming experience. Maria is a woman that knows her business and knows it well. In the last couple of years I’ve seen her spa transform in to one of the most beautiful spots in the city and I’m always proud to promote Rhythm for a variety beauty needs — the best when you’re running around at the Eaton Centre and need a break.

This Thursday Rhythm spa is doing their part  by hosting an event (in partnership with Speroway) to support the Nourish The Children program – all in the hopes of raising money to feed as many starving children as they can this month.

$25 of your ticket will go towards the charity to bring a suffering child meals for a month – sometimes you don’t realize how blessed you are to be able to even eat for a month nevermind  a lifetime, right?

Check out the details below and let me know (@remagouyez) if you’ll be visiting.

Want to donate meals but can’t attend the event? Visit this link to make a difference.
