Corno and Lancome: Art and beauty meet

“I need that lipstick. Not want, need,” was the first thing I said to Lancôme counter Manager, Sasha Simler. Her full-bodied, blonde hair was bursting with colour against this true, vibrant, pink lip. I’m a true believer that makeup and art share a close connection. From the inspiration of fashion collections that are translated in to nail designs – to colour blocking your beauty to your clothing.

The collaboration between Lancôme MUA, Lora Spiga and Montreal-born artist, Corno has been a bright and bold one. The stand out piece in Lancome’s newest collection is easily the S.O.S Pink lipstick. A true, Barbie-pink that flatters every skin tone. I was particularly surprised to see the shade work so well on both fair and tanned skin.

“The Lancôme by Corno Limited Edition Makeup collection that was launched in mid May. Corno and Lora we’re inspired by beauty trends and by Corno’s’colourful paintings. Then there was the Soon is Now event, presented by Lancôme at Luminato. We invited festival goers to witness Corno bring the final touches to her paintings,” Says Julie Tremblay, Communications manager for Lancôme Canada.

This limited edition collection had me wanting it all from the moment I saw the packaging. The art piece shown features a stunning painting of a woman with bright coral, pink lips. The powder brush is in my makeup collection already but I love the limited version of this staple piece.

“Corno’s art is all about colour, energy and femininty, it is it precisely these qualities that inspired Lancôme to collaborate with this great Canadian talent,” Says Julie.
