Fragrant notes: a personal perfume

{Scent stand}

I’m losing my mind over fragrance lately. Every time I smell a new fragrance that I love, it engrains itself in to my mind and I can’t stop thinking about until the moment i decide i’m going to Sephora tomorrow and buying it before I really do lose it. This olfactory addiction will probably become the death of me until I’m bathing in fragrance but at this point I don’t care.

As it stands, on my stand. There are currently four fragrances that I’m rotating between throughout the week but they all hold a dear place in my heart.

{Givenchy – Dahlia Noir EDT}

This gorgeous fragrance contains notes of pink pepper and mandarin, sandalwood, rose, peach and more. What a fabulous mix you might say? Yes, it really is. The perfect concoction of sexy, feminine and soft scents. I recently received the EDP in candle form as a gift and I really wish I could just bathe in the wax.

{Viktor and Rolf – Flowerbomb}

This fragrance reminds me of the days when I used to work in Selfridges (oh how I love that store, despite my wallet’s hatred for it). This pink grenade houses a mixture of notes including Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia and Patchouli. It still remains my go-to fragrance for special occasions or days when I just want to feel extra special. It’s the ultimate date-night perfume and trust me, it doesn’t smell like your vase of flowers, it leans towards sultry and seductive rather than a flower overload.

{Kenzo – Amour}

My best friend introduced me to this fragrance. I would always smell it on her during our years in university and I just fell in love. It quickly became my signature fragrance and I wore It for years. It’s the fragrance that my boyfriend knows me by and the one that reminds me of us falling in love – which is serendipitous given the name. Rice Steam, Vanilla, Tanakha Wood, Musk, Cherry Blossom, Frangipani Blossom. These are the ingredients to my love story.

{YSL – Parisienne}

Last but not least, this perfume reminds me of Summer 2012  in Canada. It’s a soft and very powdery fragrance that is just drenched in femininity. Featuring floral arrangements of violet, damask rose and tart blackberry, which are tangled in notes of sandalwood (that’s what hooks me) and deepened musk (the powdery notes). The ingredients to this blend just mix so perfectly together and I know so many women who love this as their day-to-day fragrance. It’s light enough to become your signature fragrance for sure.

The Wishlist

These are the fragrances that I’m dying to add to my collection…

    You have an impressive collection, and amazing taste in fragrance. I love all of these smells, and I can assure you that you will absolutely love Chloe and Jour D’Hermes. I’m not too familiar with all the Tocca scents, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about them as well.
    Happy to have found your blog !

    Oh my gosh, that staaaaand! <3

    I've been using a sample of See by Chloé and I love it! I think I'll make that purchase sometime next month. 🙂

    As for my favourites, it has to be: V&R Flowerbomb, Burberry Classic, Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, and good ol vanilla perfume oil from The Body Shop. <3
