st-aubin

After approximately a six hour Netflix marathon on the sofa my bf and I decided it was probably time we did something a little more exciting with our lives. I mean, after three hours your start to question whether you should go for a leisurely stroll or do a workout (as if), but after six the situation was dire and only something really different would cut it. Being grossly lazy we decided to just see what places our nearest airport would fly to and somehow got to Jersey. The beaches looked nice enough on google and it was particularly shots of St. Brelade’s Bay that I had to see for myself.  So off we went!

Firstly, let’s get the negative news out of the way. Don’t bother staying at Hotel De Normandie. So much of a disappointment with two single beds pushed together (are we 12?!). Honestly at around £100 a night, a local told us there were much nicer places to stay…

The best part about Jersey? Had to be the food…

MOZZINO ESPRESSO BAR REVIEW LONDON

Despite the endless number of choices, finding food in London can be such a feat some times. I know my foodie friends will probably cringe when they see my chain picks in this post but let me preface this by saying this isn’t a round-up of the best places to eat in the city.

It’s more a guide to the places I’ll pop in to when looking for food on the go on a work day. I will say that the coffee shop I mention is probably my favourite in the city for hot chocolate – and I’ve tried a LOT of hot chocolate!

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed I haven’t been posting much. Combination of being unacceptably busy and not haven’t the time to get creative and inspired.

I have however, recently pulled together a tutorial for StyleList.ca on Taylor Swift’s classic make up look. Sigh. I wish I had her blonde hair for this. I digress. This idea came to me after replaying her new 1989 album a million and one times. I haven’t listened to an album this much since Mumford’s last record.

Outside the world of beauty you’ll notice I’m also swooning over everything Christmas light related (in the city and my place!), the last few leaves of Autumn (as I write this the snow sets on the ground outside), Essie’s Christmas 2014 collection (more to come on that) and last but not least. Balzac’s Parisian Mist Tea Latte – If I could have on everyday I would.
