I mean I use the word summer very loosely obviously living in England but hey – maybe that’s why I’m just wishing Autumn along already. This limbo is a tad tiresome and I can’t help but long for boots, coats, scarves and chestnut latte’s already. Ah a girl can dream! Anyway I digress. Kylie Jenner made this kinda shade popular but I’ve always loved a burnt brown lip for a warm beauty look.

sephora pantone 2015 marsala colletion

{Sephora + Pantone Universe 2015: Marsala Collection}

I’ve always had a fear of reddish brown make up. Latent memories of multiple aunts in gaudy dresses and obscene layers of makeup were all concluded with a few sweeps of the ’90s brown lip. A shade that’s still hugely popular in the Arab beauty world you know.

Fast forward to 2015 and I’m all like “hey girl, loving your marsala lip” (pronounced Mah-sal-la if you grew up with an Indian family like I did).

My 2014 beauty mantra has been all about experimenting with bold lip colours. This year I ventured in to the world of unusual (for me) shades like deep purples, blackened plums and a shade I once said I would never wear on my lips- reddish browns.

This year will see a lot of changes for me — I’m moving back to England! So excited to be in London again and with that comes an awesome promotion with the company I love and the chance to see my friends again. WHO’S EXCITED?!

With this new found excitement and life change, I’ve been experimenting a bit more about what I consider my “signature beauty look”. Hit ‘read more’ to see which products are helping me get this look!

burberry christmas make up

Burberry beauty is a little bit of a luxury soft spot of mine. This year’s Christmas collection just had me at ‘hellooooo, gold encompassed perfection’. The ultimate oxblood nail lacquer, the earthy quad of shadow basics and a satin lipstick that stains a bitten lip.

For someone who’s a bit of a beauty hoarder I don’t really mix up my beauty looks as much as I should. Awful, I know! I have been trying a new look lately but there will be more on that later. For now, check out the products I’m using for these two beauty looks when I’m strapped for time.

six products two looks

{The six stars}

These are the products you’ll need for both looks. Gotta love multi-taskers, non? The base for both looks involves Givenchy Foundation for a matte but glowing base and Dior’s Iconic Overcurl Mascara for volume and curl.

1. Givenchy – Teint Couture Foundation

2. Shu Uemura – Tint in Gelato in Cassis Delight

3. Benefit – they’re Real! Push-Up Liner

4. Diorshow – Iconic OverCurl Mascara

5. Dior – Addict Extreme Lipstick in Mirage

6. Lancome – Blush Subtil Palette

shu uemura tint in gelato red

The first look is as easy as pie. Base as above with Shu Uemura’s Tint in Gelato in Cassis Delight on the lips and a cheeks. It’s my favourite lip and cheek product by far. Keep this badboy in your purse for beauty emergencies.

benefit liner smokey effect

This look is all about the eyes. Using Benefit’s they’re Real! Push Up Liner I apply it to the lower and upper lash line, as well as the waterline.

lancome blush subtil palette

For the cheeks I use Lancome’s Blush Subtil palette in Nectar Lace — bronzer, blush and a little highlighter for good measure.

dior addict mirage

For the lip I have pretty much one go-to nude lippie for a balm-like finish. Dior’s Addict Extreme Lipstick in Mirage is perfect for olive-toned ladies like myself. It has just enough caramel and pink in it to look natural but healthy.

The finished “smokey-nude” look

Which is your fave? Ya’ll know I’m a red-lip aficionado but recently I’m all about the nude-lip, lined up combo!
