revlon colorburst matte lacquer balms

{Revlon Colorburst balms}

There comes a time in every beauty addict’s life when she meets a product that supersedes her expectations. I first spotted the incredibly vibrant, pink and matte shade, Unapologetic on Deanne from My Fash Avenue. Seriously the girl couldn’t have looked any more fly in this lippie. Naturally, a bold shade like that sparked my curiosity.

 Just look at the pigment on these babies. I’m usually a matte lady but even the lacquers had me lusting for every shade. I’m finding that on the days I’m indecisive about which lippie to pick, I’ll reach for one of these. They just always get it right. Containing a triple butter complex of sheacoconut and mango butters you’ll never be left with cracked lips even with the matte formula.

For those of you (often like me) who need a little more luxury in their products – don’t stop reading just yet.

This product compares so closely to the Rouge Allure Velvet texture by Chanel. Say whaaat? True story. I know, I know. You just wish this was a sexy ‘Mercedes click’, black case as well.

{Matte – Audacious}

A warm coral that’ll see a lot of sun this season – It’s a ‘play-it-safe’, pretty shade that’ll look good on every skin tone.

{Matte – Standout}

Standout is a saucy little shade that appears to plump the lips up for a sexy, burgundy pout. I couldn’t help but wear it for an entire work week and that’s a lot for me…

{Matte – Mischievous}

This light lovely is wearing a little warm after swatching the other shades but you can still see the lighter, cooler hue of coral in it’s pigment. With my ‘pale’ skin I can get away with it now but it may look strange in the summer when I’m sporting a tan. Will keep you posted!

February seems to be the month of blush — who am I to complain? If it’s not a bold lipstick I’m cooing over it’s a brightly pigmented blush. I’m a sucker for colour. Maybelline’s on a roll with it’s offerings and this round of blushers is a shining example.

maybelline hi-light blush light bronze review

{Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in Light Bronze}

Oh hello gorgeous and glittering higlighter/bronzer hybrid. If you’re a beauty nerd you’ll know how iconic the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is for what it does to your cheeks. The Maybelline Face Studio Master Hi-Light blushes offer a variety of packed powders in one palette for poppin’ cheeks. Warm Nude is a blend of illuminating pinks and shimmering golds — the light catches the product perfectly on your J-Lo-esque cheekbones.

{Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in Pink Rose}

The shade Pink Rose I would accept as more of a blush than a bronzer or highlighter – it might be a little too intense to sweep this over your forehead and chin so I’d recommend saving this for a multi-dimensional, romantic flush instead.

{Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks}

If I had to be selective about the formula of my cheek colour I’d choose a cream blush over a powder any day. That is if I’m judging entirely on the finished effect on my cheeks. There’s something about a cream that allows for a much more natural flush. Wouldn’t you agree?

{Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black & White}

Okay let me be honest with you. I was outrageously sceptical when I saw these fragrances. “Great, another celebrity perfume I have no desire to admit I’m wearing,” I said. The next 10 seconds proved to be an entirely different story.

{Nirvana White}

Following the success of their clothing line – Elizabeth and JamesMary Kate and Ashley Olsen decided to add a  fragrance duo to their arsenal.

Nirvana White was my first spritz and I was immediately whisked away in to a warm spring morning in Paris on my way to a bakery (one of many for the day) with the feeling of utter bliss. Perhaps it was the floral story of the fragrance that took me there. A beautiful blend of  peony, muguet (also known as lilly of the valley) and tender musk. This is the ultimate in feminine, fragrance housed in the chicest of packaging.

{Nirvana Black}

This immediately took me to a memory that I’m yet to form. Dressed in an emerald, silky gown at a James Bond-esque ball, what else would I wear as my perfume? A weaving of vanilla, sandalwood and violet, this is for the events at which you want to exude class and sophistication. It’s feminine, dark, strong and sexy all in one perfume. To boot, it’s encased in a masculine package that makes me feel almost naughty opening. Did I mention this is the scent my man loved the most?

Three guesses what I’ll be wearing on Friday…

{Nerd Face}

Well this is awkward. My name is Rema and this is my face. I thought it fitting to do a ‘deer in headlights’ expression because well that’s how I feel without make up on. Now that I’ve gotten naked in front of you it’s only fair I tell you more.

{Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer – $22.99 available in February}

Just before Christmas I attended the Garnier spring releases event and was oh so impressed with the line up. Saying that, the most exciting part of making my rounds though the new products was playing with this little number. So much so that I actually starting applying it on to my face in copious amounts despite the rotating crowd.

It wasn’t the first time I’d seen colour changing technology in a make up base but it was the first time I’d seen one get so accurate and best of all, sooo glowing. Yes it’s an anti-aging product and I’m coming up to 25-years old but it’s this year I started to see the fine lines come in for the first time and I’d rather start embracing that journey ASAP.

{The product applied}

It happens to me every weekend. I’m scouring my make up drawers for a base that’s light enough to feel like moisturizer but not heavy enough to make my face feel congested. Even my BB creams weren’t cutting it – they all felt too heavy.

The thing I absolutely love the most about the this product is how lightweight it feels and how the product colour adjusts to make my skin look warmer as opposed to ashy, like most colour-adjusters have done in the past.

Not sure If you can tell in the pictures but the Ultra Lift Transformer instantly lifts and brightens your skin tone but also offers long term anti-aging benefits to smooth out wrinkles and reduce dark spots (thanks to the vitamin E, Pro-retinol and firming peptides).

Slap on a bit of Vasanti’s Lip and Cheek pod in Candelight on my lips and cheeks and my easy weekend look is a breeze to apply. If you want the the chance to win one of FIFTY of these gems then enter my giveaway below!

Have any questions? Ask away below, I won’t be offended and would be happy to answer! Oh, and in these photos I was also wearing a CC eye cream that had some brightening particles in it.
