Sundays are (or should be if they’re already not!) sacred when it comes to beauty routines. Every weekend I make a point of pampering myself to unwind and reboot for the week ahead, plus it doesn’t hurt to start the week feelin’ fresher than fresh.
I usually do three masks a week. Deep cleaning, hydrating and nourishing – they without a doubt really do make a difference my overall complexion and appearance. PLUS, they make make up go on a dream.
For a deep clean
Today I’m using one of my absolute favourites, The Body Shop, Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask. This fluffy formula helps with dull, dead skin with sesame oil to hydrate and rice to exfoliate. The entire mask range by TBS is worth collecting…happy to admit I have four of five!
Another favourite and one I like to use during the week for a boost in the morning is the Tumeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Masque by Kiehl’s (shout out to my brand!). This little pot of sunshine does everything it says on the tin. With a clay base that dries to draw out impurities, the feature of cranberry seeds offers a deep exfoliation as you scrub to rinse the product off.
The British Rose Fresh Plumping Hydrating Mask by The Body Shop is easily my favourite hydrating mask on the market (sorry Fresh, I’ve found another favourite). The gel is almost an exact dupe of the pricey offering by Fresh but what I love even more about this is that it leaves my skin tingling, feeling cool and fresh.
I’ve not always been a fan of overnight masks but since Anna (The Anna Edit) made me realise that less is more with this type of product, this formula has a special place in my heart. The Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque by Kiehl’s is a thick, decadent cream that smells delicious but that’s not why we’re here. Citygoers – this is a must in your beauty stash. Apply a thin layer all over clean skin, leave for ten minutes then tissue off and leave the excess on overnight. You’ll wake up with plumper, softer, brighter skin.
I’d LOVE to hear your favourite masks @remagouyez – always looking for new recommendations on a pamper product 😉
