 Marc Jacobs Luxury Lipstick Gift Limited Edition

{ Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Lip Gel in Showstopper}

Marc Jacobs beauty wasn’t mind-blowing with it’s recent release but one stand out product has to be the Lip Gel. An incredibly hydrating and creamy formula, the traditionally black, magnet snap packaging makes a gal feel like a million bucks. This limited edition version  in Showstopper ($36) is what’s up for the Holidays.

Dior Diorific Luxury Lipstick Holiday 2013

{Dior – Diorific Lipstick in Minuit and Diva}

Sitting in a restaurant and my Diorific falls out “Is that a vibrator?” a colleague asks. Why no…no it’s not. Sexual toys aside trust me when this lipstick is what every mature wants packed in her purse. It was a guy that made the comment – of course he’d say that!

If you think a hard red may be too strong for your lucky lady, opt for the shade, Minuit ($40). It has a hint of pink to it.

holland roden

{Red on pale on red on green}

 Can we all take a moment to appreciate the vision that actress Holland Roden is? I mean, if you don’t already know, I have a huge crush on red hair and pale skin. A crush in the sense that I sometimes wish I had those porcelain looks!

During New York Fashion Week the Teen Wolf actress (haven’t seen the show though) got it so right with her green leather top that complemented her locks oh so well.

 Celebrity Sightings - Day 7 -  2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week{Wind swept stunning locks}

 The best part of the look for me was obviously the bright red lipstick. I’m not sure what she was wearing but I’m fairly certain Bite’s Zinfandel is a close dupe. I’d say what she’s wearing is probably a little bluer.

What do you think of Holland’s fierce beauty look and if you know the lip she’s wearing, let me know!

{Matte, glossy, bold and bright: My favourite red lipsticks and liners}

My recent obsession with red lipsticks has set of a trend in my buying. If I’m looking to buy a lipstick from a brand, just for the packaging, I tend to steer towards red. I love having a product that offers a WOW factor inside and out. Below are a few of my favourite reds.

Inexpensive and stunning, this is my favourite red for value. The outer packaging is nothing to write home about but if you’re looking for a red that’ll stop people in their tracks without breaking the piggy-bank then this is a must have. Deep, intense, true red in Revlon’s Colourburst – Ruby. $10.99

{Giorgio Armani}

Armani’s new Lip Meestro lipsticks use the latest, innovative technology to offer you a burst of highly pigmented, 4-D colour. The lip laqcuer has a velvet gel texture whilst diffusing light and bathing your lips in the opaque, bright shade of your choice. My choice? The Red – 400. A true red that’ll flatter any skin tone. This lipstick is best for impact. $38.

Rouge G De Guerlain L’Extrait is the ultimate in luxurious packaging. The sleek Bond-style gadget casing will have all eyes on you when you’re touching up in public. The lacquer glides on effortlessly with a bright orange/red to offer the ultimate in prestige products. This shade, M25 Colere is the perfect summer red. $51.

The Dior Addict lipstick in Stiletto, goes on sheer with a hint of sparkles. This lipstick is great for those with lips that aren’t already pigmented brown to offer maximum colour. If you’re conscious that your natural lip colour may come through underneath the product then mute the lips out with your foundation and opt for a lip primer to get the most out our your lipstick. $31

{Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani#401}

My absolute favourite red lipstick of all time. This creme orange/red lipstick stays on through food, drink and half a day at the office. I love the way it feels, I love how pigmented it is and I LOVE the shade. If I had to buy one red lipstick for the rest of my life it’d be this one. $38.

{Bite Luminous Creme- Tanin}

I’ve had a crazy obsession with Luminous Creme, Bite lipsticks lately. The only downfall for me with these is that they melt fairly quickly if you don’t keep them in a cool place but otherwise, they are delectable. This deep and dark shade of red had me sold after I wore it to a bar and everyone wanted to know the shade. When I told them I’d just tried it on in a store they wouldn’t stoping saying that I had to buy it. The best shade of red for the fall. Bright enough to keep you looking alive but dark enough to be on trend. $28.

{Yves Saint Laurent}

YSL’s Pur Couture in #1 would be the high-fashion red. Another shade that I always get compliments on, the silky finish of the lipstick is super smooth and hydrating, drenching your lips in high-colour without drying it out out. A bright red that was sold out for weeks after 300lbs of it was used in a art exhibition in Paris. $38.
