I love a good innovative formula in a beauty product and this (relatively) newbie courtesy of Burberry beauty is a neat little number for your beauty bag. Lip and cheek products can either be far too “wet” of a formula for the cheeks or a little too drying to wear on the lips (Let’s not discredit YSL’s Kiss and Blush which is the perfect hybrid for both). Okay I digress.
Burberry beauty is a little bit of a luxury soft spot of mine. This year’s Christmas collection just had me at ‘hellooooo, gold encompassed perfection’. The ultimate oxblood nail lacquer, the earthy quad of shadow basics and a satin lipstick that stains a bitten lip.
Suffice to say my favourite shade when it comes to autumn (fall) is burgundy. What, you didn’t know?! From berry hues of handbags to deepened wine lips I’m all about mixing elements of this gorgeous autumn appropriate shade in to my wardrobe.
It lends itself marvellously to shades of black, mustard, cream and brown. Chocolate eyes and wine lips…one of my favourite looks for autumn.
Recent events have had my pining for my homeland that is Britain. I’m missing the food, the side streets, the rude people and even the rain a little too much to handle. Naturally I’m gravitating towards anything with a British background and my recent opportunity to explore the Burberry beauty collection felt just like home.
I’ll admit I sometimes roll my eyes when I hear of luxury brands trying to tap in to beauty market at this point in time. “It’s going to be all about the packaging, I just know it,” is what I usually think about such a thing — Take Louboutin doing sixty something dollar nail polish. Please.
Burberry’s beauty line surprised and delighted me. The quality of complexion, the unique shades and textures. So much luxury in one place without the sacrifice of quality. You’ll want to read more…
