{Philosophy Shampoo, Shower gel and bubble Bath – Peppermint Stick}

Nothing screams Christmas like a good ol’ candy cane, right? A fair amount of you lovely gals that commented over the past few days mentioned that peppermint based baked goods are your vice over the holidays. It’s a flavour that’s a lot more loved than I thought!

{Candy cane and pink showers}

You can see where I’m going with this. I’m not the the world’s biggest fan of peppermint products, unless we’re talking about the peppermint white chocolate mocha from Starbucks then we’re talkin’…

{Behold the beverage}

Saying that I’m not a fan of peppermint isn’t a lie but I do love the way Philosophy describe ways (on the front of the bottle) that you can use this holiday candy in different ways.

{Pink ooze}

Like so:

1. As a Hostess Gift

2. To stir your hot cocoa

3. Crushed over a bowl of ice crema

4. Bundled in a jar on your baking table/counter (cute home deco idea!)

5. Strung in a row for more home deco

6. Dipped in melted chocolate (I love fondue)

7. As a cocktail garnish

8. As a light night snack

That’s plenty more ways that I thought existed! Which way would you prefer yours?

{Philosophy Spiced Gingerbread Cookie Shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath}

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a fan of gingerbread in any form of baked goods. My must-have Christmas treat? Shortbread cookies dipped in pretty much anything.

{I love the way this looks good enough to eat…}

That being said, I ADORE gingerbread scented beauty products. So much so that this particular shower gel has become my favourite of the five.

It makes me want to eat it. I love that for the seemingly edible products, Philosophy include the recipe of said product on the bottle. Totally satisfying the foodies in us right?

So here’s the Philosophy recipe if you do love gingerbread men…

2 cups flour

1, 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2  cup brown sugar

1/3 cup molasses

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg

1/2 cup unsalted butter

Directions: mix sugar, butter and molasses, add egg and beat for one minute. Sift in dry ingredients, then mix for two minutes. Scoop on to pan, lightly flatten cookies and dust with sugar. Bake for 13 minutes at 350f. Allow to cool before decorating!

In lieu of not wanting to bake this treat my oh so thoughtful boyfriend came home with this deliciously scented Bright – Gingerbread Man Air Freshener that now sits on our tree. Isn’t he the cutest! He’s also literally filling my living room with the sweet scent of gingerbread cookies which is doubly as awesome seeing as I just showered with the scent…

You can find this little badboy at your local Metro store.

Day One: Philosophy Snow Angel Last year I’m pretty sure my mum made her first snow angel, Ever. This scent reminds me so much of the awesome times we had last year. I’m pretty sure it was their first time tobogganing, too <3

Back to the present day and I start my Monday with the soft and subtle scent of the snow angel. It’s nothing but light and clean and best suited for the ones you love that don’t want and overwhelming smell of delicious cupcakes.

best perfume 2013 Marc Jacobs Daisy Roses de Chloe

{The Perfume Edit}

Yes, the gift of fragrance is absolutely a personal one but when you know who you’re buying for, it makes it all the more fun, doesn’t it? Being a beauty addict makes things a little more fun though – satisfy more than one personality, that’s what I say.

best perfumes to gift

These five fragrances are a personification of the different sides of me that need tending to. After all, isn’t that what a fragrance is for? Adding a little scented sensuality in to a girl’s life?

Fresh Life Perfume

{So fresh and so clean}

Fresh Life, is for the girl that hates those warm, vanilla scents. Gift this gentle and clean perfume to the girl that likes to step outside of the mainstream fragrance trends. The girlfriend that I know would love this is sporty but sassy and sexy. She’s a real chameleon so you can’t over-complicate a perfume.

marc jacobs perfume

{The University girl}

I fell in love with this fragrance roughly six years ago whilst in awe of a classy roommate of mine. She was eastern european and made of money but she never showed off. She was so softly spoken and so well put together. Marc Jacobs’ Daisy is the fragrance that completes the classiest of women with a dry down that wouldn’t overwhelm the smallest of creatures. Utterly delicate.

Notes: Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods.

Miss Dior perfume

{My mum comes with me every where – Miss Dior}

I know I’m not the only one who does this. I miss my mum so much I sometimes wear her perfume just to be reminded of her. This scent reminds me of the times we shared on a summer vacation years ago. I know women of all ages that enjoy this vibrant fragrance.

Go for this if you know your girl is hooked by a fruity top note with a floral dry down.

Notes: Italian Mandarin Essence, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute, Indonesian Patchouli Essence.

Roses de Chloe

{The one, The Romantic}

This fragrance is everything I’m in love with right now. It’s feminine, it’s dainty it’s soft and it’s pretty. It’s for the girl that falls in love with everything around her.

Roses de Chloe is a perfume that’s soft and powdery with a hint of sweet flower. the best way to describe this? As tender as a petal. Quite honestly, I just want to bathe in it.

Notes: bergamot, damascena rose essence, magnolia accord, white musk and amber

Tom Ford Violet Blonde

{The Money Maker}

Sure, this one isn’t for every one. It may even be a deterrent to most for the simple fact that it featured those intense, opulent notes. An extravagant gift at $80 for 30ml of juice but the price is reflective of the ingredients. Complicated, strong and bold, this is for a woman that already has a library of perfume.

Notes: Violet Leaf Absolute, Italian Mandarin, Baie Rose, Tuscan Orris Absolute, Tuscan Orris Butter, Jasmin Sambac, Sampaquita, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Vetiver Absolute, Musk, Soft Suede
