I first stumbled across Desenio on Little Big Bell and was just in awe of the bright, colour prints she’d styled together. A good two hours later I’d found the posters online and was lost in the endless combinations that I’d put together for my mum’s living room…

And hallway, and stairway…

“Are you going to keep your blog going,” asked my girlfriend, Roop. My immediate response was simply that I didn’t know. Moving across the world is a little exhausting and there are so many things to consider – then you’re bombarded with the copious number of things that creep up on you unexpectedly.

{My living room}

I’ve always wanted a living space that allowed for a lot of light. After growing up in the UK we didn’t get copious amounts of sunlight but I did learn a trick or two about faking it with the right hues.

My living space in Toronto boasts shades of yellow, to brighten and add a pop of colour, navy to add depth and neutrals like cream, grey and black to ground the mix of colours.

I have a thing for graphics on cushions so I picked up this bicycle one and a range of colours from Homesense.

Don’t be afraid to mix textures too. This makes everything feel a whole lot more cozy. Speaking of cozy…the yellow, knitted Cynthia Rowley throw was a stellar buy. Comfy and colourful, that too was picked up at Homesense.

One of my favourite pieces of the room entirely has to be the world map decal I got from Urban Wall Decals. I’m adding dots of silver nail polish to keep track of where I’ve visited and inspire me to travel more!

As we transition in to the fall months I’m thinking of changing the colour scheme up a bit but still not quite sure on the direction.

Any suggestions?

A few products have been sitting on my desk for a little too long lately so I thought I’d make a point of sharing my desk side essentials.

Whilst hard at work I feel like there’s always a place for a nice candle. During the day I’m burning Hobnail Waterlilly candle from Chapters Indigo it’s so clean and fresh and makes a clean apartment feel like bliss.

Also on hand is my adorable “Be Happy” notebook from Chapters. Sometimes we all need a reminder and I still feel like there’s always a place fro handwritten lists and notes, don’t you? For touch up’s YSL’s Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Peach Passion.

We all know I like to spend a pretty penny on Diptyque candles but after my Christmas haul I thought it best to burn the last of my minis (Tubereuse) during these summer nights.

My Milk BKR from Blossom Lounge holds a firm place on my desk. It matches the white decor and forces me to stay hydrated while I work.

I recently received Essie’s Summer 2014 Collection, Haute in the Heat and I’m keeping them close by in case I need a quick touch up before an event. Naturally I have nail polish remover close at hand too 😉

BKR obsessed. My boss makes fun of me for it. Kitten (baby pink) has always been by my MAC’s side but in th elast couple of weeks I welcomed Boy (baby blue) and Chip (Mint green). Now I have no reason not to be hydrated this summer, right? These beauties are all available at Blossom Lounge.
