Lesson one: It’s all about the peaks. A bare naked face that features the highs and lows, the dips and the dimples, once perfected, are the canvas of beauty. It’s a canvas you prepare with perfection for the colour it’s eager for.

When I visited Hudson’s Bay to watch British MUA, Alex Box paint a face from scratch I was mesmerized. Mostly by the preparation and measures that she took before she applied a whisper of bright colour to the face. Before sweeping on her shades of pink to later invade with strokes of green, Alex contoured the face unlike anything I’ve seen before.

Long, short, circles, sweeps, strokes. Every motion she made when applying the highlights and lowlights to the face made a miracle of a difference transforming the model’s face in to a contour worthy of landmark title.

{Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora $26}

Perusing through the newly installed Illamasqua counters I found love in a cream called Gleam. The buttery soft formula took to my fingertips with delicate ease and quickly dissolved in to a powder of high-shine when it touched the back of my hand. Take me to the nearest counter. How could I not?

And so I bring you the beauty of Illamasqua’s Gleam…the only highlighter you’ll ever need.

dior blush

{Dior Creme Blush in Bikini, Pareo, Panama}

Yes, these are like the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes but with a little more flava. Packing a ridiculous amount of punch, this cream-to-powder finish will give you that (intensely) flushed blush from within blush.

The shade Bikini is an deep red that gives you that gorgeous glow that you get when you have a fever in your cheeks. What? It’s actually a pretty flush.

Pareo, a true magenta that’ll shock and pop with it’s blue-toned hues that develop the intensity of the pink. And Panama, an orange coral that’ll flatter any woman, anywhere.

These beauties were supposed to be limited edition so if they’ve sold out in your area then you’re probably really bummed…

{Little glass pots of luxury}

Not only is the product sublime, the packaging will make you feel oh, so special. You can apply them with your fingers or a brush, I use the former when I’m in a rush.

For only $30 it’s totally worth the purchase. Get them while they’re still on!
