If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed I haven’t been posting much. Combination of being unacceptably busy and not haven’t the time to get creative and inspired.

I have however, recently pulled together a tutorial for StyleList.ca on Taylor Swift’s classic make up look. Sigh. I wish I had her blonde hair for this. I digress. This idea came to me after replaying her new 1989 album a million and one times. I haven’t listened to an album this much since Mumford’s last record.

Outside the world of beauty you’ll notice I’m also swooning over everything Christmas light related (in the city and my place!), the last few leaves of Autumn (as I write this the snow sets on the ground outside), Essie’s Christmas 2014 collection (more to come on that) and last but not least. Balzac’s Parisian Mist Tea Latte – If I could have on everyday I would.

I know we just paid homage to my favourite shade of all time but this past Thanksgiving weekend played a big inspiration on my beauty, style and let’s be honest — food choices.

I spent the wonderful weekend eating a LOT of amazing food (most of which involved colours of orange, cream and brown — I love cheese and carbs).

{My living room}

I’ve always wanted a living space that allowed for a lot of light. After growing up in the UK we didn’t get copious amounts of sunlight but I did learn a trick or two about faking it with the right hues.

My living space in Toronto boasts shades of yellow, to brighten and add a pop of colour, navy to add depth and neutrals like cream, grey and black to ground the mix of colours.

I have a thing for graphics on cushions so I picked up this bicycle one and a range of colours from Homesense.

Don’t be afraid to mix textures too. This makes everything feel a whole lot more cozy. Speaking of cozy…the yellow, knitted Cynthia Rowley throw was a stellar buy. Comfy and colourful, that too was picked up at Homesense.

One of my favourite pieces of the room entirely has to be the world map decal I got from Urban Wall Decals. I’m adding dots of silver nail polish to keep track of where I’ve visited and inspire me to travel more!

As we transition in to the fall months I’m thinking of changing the colour scheme up a bit but still not quite sure on the direction.

Any suggestions?

{Rocker}

During high school (and my friends would attest to this) I could’t quite decide on who I wanted to be so I played around with a lot of personas and looks. One of them being the rocker chick. I have to admit my make up was no where near as neat as this but I did my best with the one kohl liner I owned…

{Prom Queen}

I most definitely was not prom queen (pretty sure my best friend at the time was if I think back, she is a totally hottie!) but I felt I couldn’t not do a ’80s make up look if I was playing with flashback beauty looks. It’s all about blue shadow, red lips and pink cheeks.

This is probably the make up look that I could closest relate to when it comes to my ol’ school days. You would have found me in the library most of the time. I was a nerd and I LOVED it. It wasn’t until I hit 20 odd that I found love in red lippie.

If I would have been allowed to play with make up at school I probably would have worn something closer to this pink rendition of beauty looks. But nay, I went to a school that was all about uniform and best behaviour 😉
