2014 beauty favourites

Really, truly, honestly. I couldn’t possibly try to write up all the beauty products that were my favourite this year, especially when it comes to skincare. SO I’ll make an effort to film a video (!) on my favourites before the quarter ends.

In the mean time click to “read more” and check out the slide show of the products I’ve loved all year round.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with founders of the brand, NudeStix to hear their story behind why this beauty revolution was set to be a part of ever woman’s make up bag. Sure, we love our luxurious palettes and bullets of bright and bold colour — but some most days we just want to look, simply pretty.

{Pink pout}

Oh hello drugstore lippie that has the texture of silk. You may know that I’m not the biggest fan of glossy lips (though I have been fancying the Lancome Gloss in Love lately), so this pencil impressed me — big time.

I love this ‘chubby stick‘ style casing, makes it easy to throw in your purse and go and the twist features means you don’t need a sharpener. Sa-weeet.

The way this lipstick felt on my lips (dare I say it) reminded me of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks.

I recently gave the Ultimate Suede Lipstick by Revlon a shot but was so underwhelmed. I loved the initial application but my lips quickly cracked. Womp womp. On that note, the Colorbust Matte Balm applied like butter and doesn’t dry out your pout.

I believe these retail for around $9.99 which as always point out, equates to almost 4 Chanel Lipsticks. Bargain.

My biggest problem? I need MOAR.

{Velvet Lips}

Every time I paid a visit to Sephora to pick up one of these babies they were sold out. Serious heartbreak on stage. It wasn’t until I was amidst the post-Christmas chaos that I spotted the last one of this berrylicious lip colour.

The cream-to-powder formula is unlike any lip product I’ve tried before. Offering nothing but an opaque, matte lacquer of colour the product glides over your lips with the smoothest of touches. Is it smooch proof? No, but sometimes we have to make sacrifices for Sancere.

Bite have so cleverly created a weightless formula that blends edible butters with pure pigment – no wonder it’s deliciously smooth. I love butter. So many create uses…

Other than it not being kiss-proof, the only downfall? That there aren’t more shades.
