dior mirage essie urban jungle summer nail art

indian nail art finished look

{Indian summer inspiration}

I never pegged myself a nail artist and in all honesty up until last year I could barely paint my nails. “Be patient and start with the hand you find hardest to paint,” Leeanne of Tips Nail Bar told me. Well her genius advice worked and now I’m finding myself doing a lot more than just two coats. If I can do it so can you!

This look was inspired by the textures and colours of an Indian sari and my eyes wearing orange nail polish is the kick off to summer beauty. I wanted to keep it a little on trend by including a new nude (Dior’s Yacht) as the base.

{Minimal but bright}

Oh the colour of the year! Dior nailed it with Mirage. Complemented wonderfully with Essie’s Urban Jungle. My favourite nude of the year so far. This look is so easy to do with Sephora’s Complete Art At Your Fingertips Nail Kit.

lancome cobalt blue nail art white half moons

{Naughty Nautical}

This is easily the hottest nail polish to be swooned over in the blogosphere. Cobalt blue is all the rage in the luxe summer collections and Lancome’s Nuit D’Azur for their Summer 2014 collection.

CND VinyLux Polish 161 Burnt Romance WeeklyTop Coat

{Hot nails leading the way}

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this new CND VinyLux ($11.95) formula for a while now but I’ve finally decided I LOVE thanks to this hot as a jalapeño shade, Burnt Romance. The most unusual, autumn shade that I will proudly wear for weeks. I’m yet to see this polish last 7 days without chipping for me but with a colour this good in your bestie’s stocking I’m sure she’ll be forgiving.

{Burnt Romance}

I was  gifted this shade by Leeanne Colley of Tips Nail Bar because she’s a nail angel like that and saw how crazy in love I was with this colour. Best gift I’ve received in while…

Gold Nail Polish Dior Diorific Holiday 312 2013

{Gold and pearls}

Gold Lacquer Base with the crystal pearls that are so light they bounce around like crazy…(didn’t think that one through before setting this shot up).

Dior Diorific Nail Polish 318 Frima Holiday 2013

{The twist on ‘pretty in pink’}

Part of Dior’s Christmas nail collection the bottle is to die for but it’s this shade that has me excited. Diorific Vernis Frimas (318) is a dusty pink with tiny flecks of gold. I’m desperate to wear this ‘snow-queen’ shade on a winter’s day. What a beauty.

Can we take a moment on how gorgeous this shade is?

Dior Nuit Nail Polish

{The on-trend shade}

The perfect burgundy. Every one knows oxblood is the ‘it’ shade through fall and winter and if you’re going to gift this essential shade then let it be Dior’s Nuit ($25). You can’t see it well here but you can at Ommorphia’s blog – this polish has the tiniest trace of glitter flecks only noticeable in strong lighting. I mean, come on. This formula is ultra-glossy and next to the YSL formula is part of my top-two ‘best ever’ nail polishes.

Revlon Marchesa Nail Art Stickers Silk Rosette 24K Brocade

{The ultimate nail art}

Revlon meets Marchesa for a nail wrap ($8.95) party on your hands. Who didn’t freak at the thought of stunning, baroque patterns in the form of nail wraps? I recently saw a set of these on Dee from Liner Glitter and Gloss and snatched her hand to get a close look. These eye-catching prints and shades won’t fail to impress your girlfriends.

Sooo which do you want for your girls and which do you want for yourself?

{L’Oreal Privee Collection – Eva Longoria}

Living in Toronto during TIFF is something to write home about, especially knowing Zac Efron and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are in town. Some one needs to put those hotties on lock down for me — I digress. The next best thing that excited me like madness was the fact that L’Oreal released a ‘Privee’ collection of nail polishes and lippies for the special occasion. Oh so luxe black, matte packaging and slimline jars of polish, beautiful beauty without the price tag.

The collection sports nude lippies that are fit for the corresponding star’s skin tone — whilst I personally wouldn’t rock Doutzen’s pale pink choice I’d say the muted nudes showcased by Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto and Jennifer Lopez would work beautifully on any one.

{The ultimate autumn shade – red is in – the runways said so}

My favourite of all the polish shades has to be Eva’s polish choice (closely followed by JLO’s pale, grey shade). This deep, reddish brown is my favourite into-to-fall shade and I can’t stop lacquering my tips with it. The best part? The formula is pretty amazing. A glossy finish that doesn’t need a top coat. Oh and these fabulous, limited edition shades are only $3.99. Bargainous!
