Revlon Pens

I used to this nail art pens should be reserved for slumber parties and/or a mid-teen crisis but since nail art is making such a splash on the beauty scene it only made sense that beauty brands would start to offer us something to have fun with.   View Post

Chanel the '90s Model

{’90s Make Up Style}

This week’s challenge was all about ’90s make up. To me 1990s beauty is all about Sarah Michelle Gellar à la Buffy The Vampire Slayerand Cindy Crawford (who still, by the way, looks exactly the same). When I think of these women I think of the way they used natural shades to emphasize what they already have. For this look, I started my base with my newest obsession: Revlon’s Nearly Naked foundation. I love the old school powdery finish it leaves on my face even though it’s a liquid, yet it still has that modern day touch of a brightening effect for a healthy glow.

Lipstick Collection: The Reds The Look: Winter Bronze

{Matte, glossy, bold and bright: My favourite red lipsticks and liners}

My recent obsession with red lipsticks has set of a trend in my buying. If I’m looking to buy a lipstick from a brand, just for the packaging, I tend to steer towards red. I love having a product that offers a WOW factor inside and out. Below are a few of my favourite reds.

Inexpensive and stunning, this is my favourite red for value. The outer packaging is nothing to write home about but if you’re looking for a red that’ll stop people in their tracks without breaking the piggy-bank then this is a must have. Deep, intense, true red in Revlon’s Colourburst – Ruby. $10.99

{Giorgio Armani}

Armani’s new Lip Meestro lipsticks use the latest, innovative technology to offer you a burst of highly pigmented, 4-D colour. The lip laqcuer has a velvet gel texture whilst diffusing light and bathing your lips in the opaque, bright shade of your choice. My choice? The Red – 400. A true red that’ll flatter any skin tone. This lipstick is best for impact. $38.

Rouge G De Guerlain L’Extrait is the ultimate in luxurious packaging. The sleek Bond-style gadget casing will have all eyes on you when you’re touching up in public. The lacquer glides on effortlessly with a bright orange/red to offer the ultimate in prestige products. This shade, M25 Colere is the perfect summer red. $51.

The Dior Addict lipstick in Stiletto, goes on sheer with a hint of sparkles. This lipstick is great for those with lips that aren’t already pigmented brown to offer maximum colour. If you’re conscious that your natural lip colour may come through underneath the product then mute the lips out with your foundation and opt for a lip primer to get the most out our your lipstick. $31

{Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani#401}

My absolute favourite red lipstick of all time. This creme orange/red lipstick stays on through food, drink and half a day at the office. I love the way it feels, I love how pigmented it is and I LOVE the shade. If I had to buy one red lipstick for the rest of my life it’d be this one. $38.

{Bite Luminous Creme- Tanin}

I’ve had a crazy obsession with Luminous Creme, Bite lipsticks lately. The only downfall for me with these is that they melt fairly quickly if you don’t keep them in a cool place but otherwise, they are delectable. This deep and dark shade of red had me sold after I wore it to a bar and everyone wanted to know the shade. When I told them I’d just tried it on in a store they wouldn’t stoping saying that I had to buy it. The best shade of red for the fall. Bright enough to keep you looking alive but dark enough to be on trend. $28.

{Yves Saint Laurent}

YSL’s Pur Couture in #1 would be the high-fashion red. Another shade that I always get compliments on, the silky finish of the lipstick is super smooth and hydrating, drenching your lips in high-colour without drying it out out. A bright red that was sold out for weeks after 300lbs of it was used in a art exhibition in Paris. $38.

{Contrasting brights}

“That was done freehand?!” My male boss was in awe of the fact that Mylan of Tips Nail Bar managed a flawless, silhoutte mani. I recently recieved the gorgous “Cherries in the snow” by Revlon and had to team it with this stunning royal blue for the design. This week has been compliment after compliment on my fingertips and I can’t get enough of this nail art. Read on for the polishes.
