A few products have been sitting on my desk for a little too long lately so I thought I’d make a point of sharing my desk side essentials.

Whilst hard at work I feel like there’s always a place for a nice candle. During the day I’m burning Hobnail Waterlilly candle from Chapters Indigo it’s so clean and fresh and makes a clean apartment feel like bliss.

Also on hand is my adorable “Be Happy” notebook from Chapters. Sometimes we all need a reminder and I still feel like there’s always a place fro handwritten lists and notes, don’t you? For touch up’s YSL’s Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Peach Passion.

We all know I like to spend a pretty penny on Diptyque candles but after my Christmas haul I thought it best to burn the last of my minis (Tubereuse) during these summer nights.

My Milk BKR from Blossom Lounge holds a firm place on my desk. It matches the white decor and forces me to stay hydrated while I work.

I recently received Essie’s Summer 2014 Collection, Haute in the Heat and I’m keeping them close by in case I need a quick touch up before an event. Naturally I have nail polish remover close at hand too 😉

BKR obsessed. My boss makes fun of me for it. Kitten (baby pink) has always been by my MAC’s side but in th elast couple of weeks I welcomed Boy (baby blue) and Chip (Mint green). Now I have no reason not to be hydrated this summer, right? These beauties are all available at Blossom Lounge.

dior mirage essie urban jungle summer nail art

indian nail art finished look

{Indian summer inspiration}

I never pegged myself a nail artist and in all honesty up until last year I could barely paint my nails. “Be patient and start with the hand you find hardest to paint,” Leeanne of Tips Nail Bar told me. Well her genius advice worked and now I’m finding myself doing a lot more than just two coats. If I can do it so can you!

This look was inspired by the textures and colours of an Indian sari and my eyes wearing orange nail polish is the kick off to summer beauty. I wanted to keep it a little on trend by including a new nude (Dior’s Yacht) as the base.

{Minimal but bright}

Oh the colour of the year! Dior nailed it with Mirage. Complemented wonderfully with Essie’s Urban Jungle. My favourite nude of the year so far. This look is so easy to do with Sephora’s Complete Art At Your Fingertips Nail Kit.

lancome cobalt blue nail art white half moons

{Naughty Nautical}

This is easily the hottest nail polish to be swooned over in the blogosphere. Cobalt blue is all the rage in the luxe summer collections and Lancome’s Nuit D’Azur for their Summer 2014 collection.

fresh candles sugar lemon and grapefruit

fresh candles sugar lemon and grapefruit

{Fresh candles – scented citrus}

It’s a hard pill to swallow when you’re saying goodbye to your beloved fig and pine home fragrances but I know they don’t have place in the home on a hot summer’s day. If you saw my holiday fragrance piece you’ll know I’m a total candle snob and skincare pros, Fresh have caught my attention with their upcoming candle releases.

It’s not normally the fragrant playground I tend to spend my time in but I’ll admit it, I’ve started dabbling a little a few citrus notes…

Hesperides Grapefruit fresh candle

{Fresh – Hesperides Grapefruit}

These candles are perfect for the next time you plan to have a few bros over for a barbecue. Hesperides Grapefruit is a bright, invigorating scent that fills your home with notes that scream ‘clean’. If I had to pick one it’d be this baby.

Fresh lemon

{Fresh – Sugar Lemon}

The Sugar Lemon candle is essentially lemonade in wax form. It’s delicious and sweet but not overbearing. Ideal for scorching days, non?

This combination of lemon sprinkled with sugar is best served with a mojito in hand and your feet up as your sit in your balcony.

You can find these beauties on Sephora.com come July for $65 a pop.

Dior shadow palette summer 2014 givenchy fuchsia le rouge

As much as I complain about the showers that brought along the slushy mud, beautiful fresh flowers have sprouted and inspired me to play with colours. Whilst hiking with the wonderful Curated Taste in Vancouver last week, I spotted the gorgeous flower below.

My first thoughts? I BETTER have a lipstick that colour at home and if I don’t I need to get one.

Lo and behold…I did. Presenting the perfect hue of fuchsia flower, Givenchy’s Le Rouge in Fuchsia Irresistible. Is it not perfection?

I’ve always been a fiend for the Le Rouge formula and have at least 6 shades hidden in my drawers. This gem was untouched and just waiting to burst out when the weather warmed up.

To complement the muddy surroundings of this eye-catching flower, I pulled out the new Dior, Colour Eyeshadow Palette – Transat Edition in Sundeck. Using the off-white shade as my base and the ashy brown shade for the crease – it’s a quick, easy look to master.

In keeping with the theme I used Clinique’s Cheep Pop blush in Plum Pop on my cheeks. Complements the lippie perfectly, non?
