autumn-winter-beauty-and-accesories

Tis the season to say goodbye to bright summer shades and hello to my two favourites: burgundy and hunter green. At the end of November I plan to revamp my wardrobe and fill it with classic greys, beige and black pieces to keep me going in the Winter but in the meantime I’m stocking up on some more affordable, seasonal additions. From hair shade to sunglasses, below are a few of my favourite autumn/winter style changes.

best perfume 2013 Marc Jacobs Daisy Roses de Chloe

{The Perfume Edit}

Yes, the gift of fragrance is absolutely a personal one but when you know who you’re buying for, it makes it all the more fun, doesn’t it? Being a beauty addict makes things a little more fun though – satisfy more than one personality, that’s what I say.

best perfumes to gift

These five fragrances are a personification of the different sides of me that need tending to. After all, isn’t that what a fragrance is for? Adding a little scented sensuality in to a girl’s life?

Fresh Life Perfume

{So fresh and so clean}

Fresh Life, is for the girl that hates those warm, vanilla scents. Gift this gentle and clean perfume to the girl that likes to step outside of the mainstream fragrance trends. The girlfriend that I know would love this is sporty but sassy and sexy. She’s a real chameleon so you can’t over-complicate a perfume.

marc jacobs perfume

{The University girl}

I fell in love with this fragrance roughly six years ago whilst in awe of a classy roommate of mine. She was eastern european and made of money but she never showed off. She was so softly spoken and so well put together. Marc Jacobs’ Daisy is the fragrance that completes the classiest of women with a dry down that wouldn’t overwhelm the smallest of creatures. Utterly delicate.

Notes: Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods.

Miss Dior perfume

{My mum comes with me every where – Miss Dior}

I know I’m not the only one who does this. I miss my mum so much I sometimes wear her perfume just to be reminded of her. This scent reminds me of the times we shared on a summer vacation years ago. I know women of all ages that enjoy this vibrant fragrance.

Go for this if you know your girl is hooked by a fruity top note with a floral dry down.

Notes: Italian Mandarin Essence, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute, Indonesian Patchouli Essence.

Roses de Chloe

{The one, The Romantic}

This fragrance is everything I’m in love with right now. It’s feminine, it’s dainty it’s soft and it’s pretty. It’s for the girl that falls in love with everything around her.

Roses de Chloe is a perfume that’s soft and powdery with a hint of sweet flower. the best way to describe this? As tender as a petal. Quite honestly, I just want to bathe in it.

Notes: bergamot, damascena rose essence, magnolia accord, white musk and amber

Tom Ford Violet Blonde

{The Money Maker}

Sure, this one isn’t for every one. It may even be a deterrent to most for the simple fact that it featured those intense, opulent notes. An extravagant gift at $80 for 30ml of juice but the price is reflective of the ingredients. Complicated, strong and bold, this is for a woman that already has a library of perfume.

Notes: Violet Leaf Absolute, Italian Mandarin, Baie Rose, Tuscan Orris Absolute, Tuscan Orris Butter, Jasmin Sambac, Sampaquita, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Vetiver Absolute, Musk, Soft Suede

 Marc Jacobs Luxury Lipstick Gift Limited Edition

{ Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Lip Gel in Showstopper}

Marc Jacobs beauty wasn’t mind-blowing with it’s recent release but one stand out product has to be the Lip Gel. An incredibly hydrating and creamy formula, the traditionally black, magnet snap packaging makes a gal feel like a million bucks. This limited edition version  in Showstopper ($36) is what’s up for the Holidays.

Dior Diorific Luxury Lipstick Holiday 2013

{Dior – Diorific Lipstick in Minuit and Diva}

Sitting in a restaurant and my Diorific falls out “Is that a vibrator?” a colleague asks. Why no…no it’s not. Sexual toys aside trust me when this lipstick is what every mature wants packed in her purse. It was a guy that made the comment – of course he’d say that!

If you think a hard red may be too strong for your lucky lady, opt for the shade, Minuit ($40). It has a hint of pink to it.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Holiday 2013 gift tin

{Best Bite Set}

COME ON. $28?!?! Bite, you may as well have given this ridiculously beautiful tin away to us. For the price of one lipstick you can get a stocking stuffer that will legit blow any lipstick-lover away.

Bold and bare shades of mini (but my god are they sizeable) High Pigment Lip Pencils all housed in the cutest, matte tin. I should just buy extras while they’re still around.

Tom Ford Lipstick in Cherry Lush Review

Tom Ford Lipstick Cherry Lush

{Tom Ford Lipstick – Cherry Lush}

If you’re not new to this page then you’ll know that I have an inexplainable addiction to red lipstick. “How can I top this?” I asked myself. How can I satisfy this never ceasing urge to coat my lips in the silkiest of fiery red formulas? Two words. Tom Ford.

Tom Ford Lipstick Cherry Lush Swatch

{February birthday gift in November}

I actually meant to purchase this as a birthday gift to myself back in February. I figure it counts more now than ever because I can’t remember what my personal gift was back then – IT’S TOTALLY JUSTIFIABLE, RIGHT? As if.

Tom Ford Cherry Lush

{The Review}

Down and dirty – this lipstick is everything I thought it would be and more. It’s bright, it’s silky, it’s long wearing (actually… wasn’t expecting that one).

The only downfall (aside from the hefty price tag of $55)? You simply must wear a lip liner before applying.

Bleed central with this bad boy. I don’t believe these come with a matching lip liner so I’d recommend Givenchy’s Lip Rouge Liner – it’s the perfect match of a cherry red. Just marry me already!

Tom Ford lippies are available at Holt Renfrew – now alongside the full cosmetics collection.
