The Top Coat Revolution

{The Coats}

When YSL’s Premiere Neige polish came out last Christmas I was all over that stuff like a pritt-stick to paper. How could a top coat, something so simple, be so beautiful. Imparting a gorgeous layer of gloss and tiny sparkle barely noticeable to the naked eye. I know what you’re thinking. “Why would I spend $27 on a top coat polish?” Well, frankly, read on…

My initial thought about the Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture Tie & Dye Top Coats, was that I would never spend that much on a top coat. Let’s just call it as it is. Saying that, I remembered my love for Premiere Neige (Check out Christa’s photos of this glorious lacquer) and I’m telling you, these polishes make you feel so special. When they’re on, you can’t stop staring at your fingertips. A super glossy, special mani with a little extra somethin’ somethin’.

It’s subtle but then it’s not supposed to be loud. These top coats are essentially there to enhance your mani and seal it with a shimmer.

You can really see the difference against plain, black polish. I was super surprised to see how the bluish tones really came out of the Cool Coat (light pink) on black. With the Ice Coat (blue) It looked super emerald-like against a dark shade.
